If you love playing bingo and enjoy spinning the reels on slots, then Slingo is the perfect game for you. A fusion of both genres, it’s fast-paced action galore that will keep you entertained time and again. Make winning lines, use your skill to apply bonus symbols in the right place, and build your points total to exchange for cash prizes.

In this guide, we’ll explain all you need to know about Slingo and how to get started.

How to Play Slingo

If you enjoy playing online games, then chances are you have dabbled on the slots and tried bingo at some time or other. Now you can combine both games into a format that is taking the online casino world by storm.

As the name suggests, Slingo is a combination of bingo and slots, bringing a fun new game variant that can be themed on some of your favorite slot titles. Keep an eye out for a Lucky Larry's Lobstermania Slingo game, for example.

The basic Slingo game sees a 5 x 5 grid showing your random 25 numbers, drawn from the traditional 75-ball bingo format. Along the bottom of the grid is a single line "slot" mechanic, which will spin around to display five numbers of every spin. You get 10 spins in the game, and the idea is to chalk off as many of the numbers on your grid as you can. It’s just like checking your numbers on a card when the bingo announcer reads out the numbers.

As you make winning lines, you can win points, and your total points at the end of the 10 spins will pay out a cash prize.

Because this is the world of casino fun, there are some exciting bonus features when you play Slingo online. The spinning slot line at the bottom doesn’t just come up with numbers. Like in normal slots, you can land bonus symbols, too.

These might be the Joker, which lets you select the number of your choice on the grid in the column above the Joker symbol. A Super Joker lets you chalk off any number on the grid, while three or more Jokers/Super Jokers bring an instant cash prize. You might also land a Free Spin icon for one extra turn of the slot reel or a Coin symbol which yields another cash prize. But beware the little Devil, which will block one number from matching up.

Keep on Playing

Winning diagonal, vertical, and horizontal lines, full houses, and more reward you with points during the game. When it’s over, the player with the most points (in multiplayer mode) wins the big prize. Much of this is down to luck, of course, but some Slingo games come with bonus rounds. Similar to slot games, you might be asked to pick three symbols to reveal the prize.

Other Slingo games have a neat feature whereby you can purchase extra spins during the game, should you be close to making more winning lines or even a full house.

But beware – in the multiplayer versions, there is a time limit, so get all your spins complete in time!

Slingo Bingo Games Based on Your Favorite Slots

The original Slingo concept was conceived back in the early to mid-1990s. Originally thought of as a scratchcard game, Slingo transformed when online gaming became popular. First, Slingo was licensed as a free-to-play social game, but then the rights were acquired to make online real money versions based upon well-known online (and land-based) slots.

The Slingo Originals games studio, which will be supplying TwinSpires Casino, produces scores of Slingo games, some of which online slots fans will adore. There is Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania Slingo, Slingo Starburst, Slingone Fishing, Book of Slingo, Slingo Rainbow Riches, Deal or No Deal Slingo, and much more.

All these games draw heavily on the look and feel of their slot game sister titles.
