Northern Illinois Huskies College Football Info
Northern Illinois has been a part of the Mid-American Conference since 1997 and were the team to beat from 2011 through 2014, where they claimed three conference titles in every year except 2013. They have been MAC West division champions ten times, most recently in 2015. They have also appeared in 12 bowl games, but gone just 4-8 SU in those matchups. That includes a brutal five-game losing streak in the post season where they lost the 2012, Orange Bowl, 2013 Poinsettia Bowl, 2014 Boca Raton Bowl, 2015 Poinsettia Bowl and the 2017 Quick Lane Bowl in consecutive appearances.NIU is returning 14 starters under Head Coach Rod Carey and will face a tough non-conference schedule including Iowa, Florida State, and Utah.
