The NFL preseason kicks off Aug. 1. Here are some of the more interesting matchups.

Denver Broncos vs. Atlanta Falcons, Aug. 1

Both teams participating in the annual Hall of Fame game are borderline playoff squads, so it will be interesting to see if their young talent plays well.

Washington Redskins at Cleveland Browns, Aug. 8

The Browns are favored to win the AFC North, and this will be our first look at the team with Odell Beckham Jr. on the squad. Washington might start first-round draft pick Dwayne Haskins in the first preseason game. He should get a few reps under center if he isn't injured.

Los Angeles Chargers at Arizona Cardinals, Aug. 8

The Chargers are Super Bowl contenders again, and it will be interesting to see if there is improvement on defense and the offensive line. The Cardinals might give top draft pick Kyler Murray a few snaps, so we might get a glimpse at how his game translates in the NFL

Philadelphia Eagles at Jacksonville Jaguars, Aug. 15

Quarterback Nick Foles won a Super Bowl with the Eagles, but how much impact can he have with the Jaguars? This preseason matchup may be telling.

Oakland Raiders at Arizona Cardinals, Aug. 15

Let's see if Jon Gruden gives substantial playing time to the Raiders three first-round picks. Don't be surprised if Gruden plays quarterback Derek Carr and wide receiver Antonio Brown for at least one series.
