One of the top rivalries in the NFL resumes in Sunday Night Football betting when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Baltimore Ravens. Are NFL fans in line for another classic? Will the Steelers cover the spread as a slight -3 fave, or will the Ravens add another loss to the Pittsburgh's record? Baltimore has been an uneven team all season, but the Steelers have also seemed vulnerable throughout the year. Let's break this down! - by DS Williamson

NFL WEEK 4 SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BETTING Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday, September 30th – Heinz Field – 8:20pm ET Odds: Steelers -3 (51)

Ravens Offense vs Steelers Defense In 2017, Baltimore only averaged 24.7 points per game from 305.4 total yards. This season, the Ravens average 32.3 points per game. Pittsburgh should have an awful time holding the Ravens below their scoring average. The Steelers held Cleveland to only 21 points in Week 1, but since then both Kansas City and Tampa Bay have beaten up the Steel Curtain. KC scored 42 on Pittsburgh while Tampa scored 30 with Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing 411 yards. Baltimore’s offense leans heavily on the pass and Pittsburgh allows 288 passing yards (28th). Everyone has victimized Pittsburgh's defense,

Edge: Ravens

Steelers Offense vs Ravens Defense During the offseason, Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said he wanted to open up the passing attack, play more no-huddle, and move the ball as fast as possible. So far, that’s exactly what Roethlisberger and Pittsburgh’s offense have done. The Steelers average a ridiculous 363.2 passing yards per game, ranking 2nd in the NFL. Those averaged may be harder to hit in Sunday Night Football betting than one might imagine.

The Ravens have played like one of the best defenses in the league, ranking 1st in total yards allowed, 2nd in passing yards surrendered and 5th in points.  A lot of this is based on the fact that they played Buffalo in Week 1, but even if the Ravens fall back to earth defensively, it's obvious that there is some potency on this side of the football. Roethlisberger has been mistake prone this year, and the rushing attack has been lacking without Le'Veon Bell in the backfield. Baltimore has the advantage here.

Edge: Ravens

Ravens at Steelers ATS Betting Trends
  • Steelers are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games
  • Steelers are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up win
  • Steelers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 versus the AFC
  • Ravens are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games on grass
  • Ravens are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games in Week 4
  • Ravens are 3-0-1 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Pittsburgh
Ravens-Steelers Betting Analysis and ATS Prediction Pittsburgh swept Baltimore last season, beating the Ravens 26-9 in Week 4 and 39-38 in Week 14. This Ravens team has played much better in the first 3 weeks this season than they did last season, though. Baltimore’s offense is firing on all cylinders while the Pittsburgh defense is practically made of Swiss cheese.

I’m as surprised as anyone that Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has thrown for 889 yards and has 6 TD passes to only 2 INTs in 3 games. Flacco should remain hot while Big Ben and the Steelers figure to play catch up throughout the game.

Come Sunday night, I think the Ravens beat Pittsburgh on the moneyline, but if you want a bit of a buffer, take the points.
