Both Tuesday night matchups in the Stanley Cup Playoffs are crucial Game 3 tilts, with each team seeking a 2-1 advantage. After splits at home the Boston Bruins head to Columbus to face the Blue Jackets and the San Jose Sharks hit the road to take on the Colorado Avalanche.

The Bruins and Blue Jackets have played a couple of overtime games, with each team winning once.

The trends hand this one to Columbus. The Blue Jackets are 7-1 in their last eight games at home. They're also 7-0 in their last seven when their opponent scores two goals or less in their previous game. It makes no sense to go against those trends in Game 3.

San Jose Sharks (+115) at Colorado Avalanche (-135), 10 p.m. ET, NBCSN

San Jose dominated Colorado 5-2 in Game 1, but Avalanche turned the tables on San Jose in Game 2 to win 4-3. Although the two teams are evenly matched, Colorado has an advantage in Game 3.

The Avalanche are 23-14-6-0 at home. Colorado is also 5-0 in its last five games as a favorite and 13-3 in its last 16 home games. San Jose is 2-5 in its last seven road games.
