Charles Town has quickly become a track with national attention with races like the Charles Town Classic and the race on Saturday night, the $400,000 Charles Town Oaks. The fifth running of the seven-furlong sprint will go off with a field of nine after the early scratches of My Happy Face, Guadalupe High and Fusaichiswonderful.

My Happy Face was the morning line favorite, but the connections have opted to run her in the Cotillion at Parx, which leaves a log jam of fillies that could go off as the post-time favorite. After My Happy Face, four fillies are between 9-2 and 6-1 on the line.

Ile St. Molly has won three of her eight career races with her biggest win coming in a stakes race at Delaware Park. In her last start she was second, beaten a half length, in the Grade 2 Delaware Oaks. The seven furlong distance should be ideal for her as she will try to lead them gate to wire to wire.

So Many Ways won the Grade 3 Eight Belles at Churchill Downs in May, but has yet to crack the exacta in her last two starts. She may be coming out of the best race, a fourth place finish behind Sweet Lulu and My Happy Face in the Grade 1 Test. She will be flying late.

If Ile St. Molly does not make the lead then that spot will be occupied by Jax and Jill, the front-runner that has won eight of 11, all of her wins coming in gate-to-wire fashion. She is fast and drawn outside her main pace rival. The other positive for her is her six-for-eight record over the track. Come and catch her.

Thetaloveandmine adds more pace from the outside as does Awesome Mama, who won her Charles Town debut in July, but has not run since. R Free Roll is another speed ball so the race really does set up well for So Many Ways. The question is if her jockey can time that late run just right around the bull-ring track. The race shape also sets up well for Mr Hall's Opus, the 10-1 morning line filly for George and Lori Hall.

Post time for the Charles Town Oaks under the lights in West Virginia is 10:30 pm ET.
