BC Internationals: Mile contender Make Believe

Andre Fabre could have relied only on the classy mare Esoterique for the Mile (G1), so it may be significant that he's giving top-notch three-year-old colt Make Believe a shot at the glory as well.
Unbeaten in two outings as a juvenile, the son of Makfi was upset narrowly in his reappearance in the April 2 Prix Djebel (G3):
But after that prep loss, Make Believe rebounded when it counted in the French 2000 Guineas (G1) and posted a front-running victory over New Bay. Highland Reel and Muhaarar are among the also-rans:
I really thought that Make Believe would be a vigorous opponent for Gleneagles in the St James's Palace (G1) at Royal Ascot, and even believed he could upset the favorite. But he folded tamely in an effort that was too bad to be true (click the link for the replay). Given the rest of the summer off, Make Believe came back with a dazzler in the Prix de la Foret (G1) in course-record time on Arc Day:
