With Honors will be making just her second main track start when lining up in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) on Saturday. The Kentucky homebred didn’t do anything wrong when beginning her career on the turf, taking both those starts at Del Mar over the summer.

With Honors easily passed her stakes test when scoring a half-length victory in the Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf. She pressed the early leader on the outside before shooting to the front entering the turn. The bay miss was then pressured herself from that point forward but managed to open up a bit in the lane before holding the game late run from You Missed It.

Some may have expected the War Front filly to begin preparations for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) at the same one-mile distance after that win, but trainer Keith Desormeaux opted to try his pupil on the main track at Santa Anita Park in the October 1 Chandelier Stakes (G1).

With Honors took the lead from the gate and led nearly every step of the way with Noted and Quoted just to her outside. Those two pulled away from the rest of the field rounding the turn and dueled throughout the lane. Noted and Quoted inched away in the stretch but With Honors was tenacious, digging in to just miss by a half-length on the wire and galloping out past the winner.

With Honors has now proven herself on both turf and dirt, and has no problem with the 1 1/16-mile distance of the Juvenile Fillies.
