This evening's card is loaded with top grade races and I've concentrated the picks for tonight on those contests over three different courses. Greyhound racing is always exciting and especially so when we get to see the top dogs showing their talents against one another. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.

Race 7 - Grade AA - 583 yards - The key here is the (6) War Wagon, a hard running greyhound who is going for his fifth win in seven tries, the other two times he ran second so a definite threat to win here. The (8) Kiowa Oriole is also going for her fifth win in seven races and has the early speed to go paw to paw with War Wagon so it should be one heck of a battle for the win. I will use the (1) Country Stanley and the (3) CR Joe to fill out the tri and superfecta plays as both are capable should the favorites encounter any early trouble.

Picks: 6 - 8 - 1 - 3

Race 11 - Grade AA - 660 yards - I'm going with the(4) Branding Iron as the key here as he has been giving 110% lately and has nineteen top four finishes in twenty one races including six wins and five second place finishes. He is the real deal and has a bright future ahead of him. The (6) State Of Art is a formidable challenger and has eighteen top four finishes in twenty two races himself. I look for him to be close at the end. The (2) Dutch Dice likes it wide and doesn't have a favorable post position but does have two second place efforts from the same two box he has tonight in his last four races and I'll use him here. Certainly not to be overlooked is the 2014 Razorback stakes winner, the strong closing (8) Gigawatt.

Picks: 4 - 6 - 2 - 8

Race 16 - Grade AA - 583 yards - A very competitive field here for sure but I'm going with the very talented (4) Kiowa Producer who has 30 wins in 49 races in his career at Southland and should add another victory to his sparkling record in this contest. The (6) Flyin Supergiant will have something to say about it as he will also be out fast and vying for the lead himself. Both the (2) Alone All Alone and the (3) Time Flies could hit the bottom of the ticket so I'll include them on my tri and superfecta plays.

Picks: 4 - 6 - 2 - 3

Race 18 - Grade TAA - 703 yards - The rail running (1) Flying Navy Seal is the one to beat here. She has drawn the one box seven times in her young career and has five wins, a second and a fifth place finish in those races. She can win from anywhere but the rail post definitely gives her the edge in this contest. The (5) Rebel Ruler has tons of early speed and will be vying for the lead right out of the box and the (6) Willie Robertson shows thirteen top four finishes in sixteen races and with that kind of percentage I'll certainly include him in the tri and superfecta plays. Finishing the ticket will be the (7) Boc's Blast Off who likes it mid to wide and has a strong kick at the end.

Picks: 1 - 5 - 6 - 7

The Moneymaker play tonight is in the 12th race, a grade A contest over the 583 yard course and is the (9) Dexter Ambigram. This young greyhound has tons of ability but has had his share of bad racing luck lately. This time out however I believe he breaks out of his recent slump with a big race here.
