The Monday evening cards at Dover Downs are typically designed to highlight the best filly and mare pacers on the circuit and tonight's card is certainly no exception. A trio of distaffers with serious upset possibilities could be poised for their best efforts.

In the evening's ninth race, a non-winners of $12,001 last six conditioned event for filly-mare pacers, Paradise Lost looks capable of an upset while listed at 12-1 on the morning line. The durable mare trained by Robert Winkelman raced first over into a serious back half in the same class last week and still lasted for third. If she can work out a second over trip and get slightly faster fractions to chase, Paradise Lost could post the upset.

One race later on the card, the best distaffers on the circuit will go postward in the $20,000 Open Handicap for filly-mare pacers and Monochromatic (Corey Callahan) will be the solid favorite despite missing last week. But last week's runner-up, Jeremes Sweetheart, could have the fitness edge on her main rival. The Eric Ell trainee left to gain command in a wicked 25.4 opener last week, yielded to Ms Caila J Fra and finished second as that one scored in 1:50.2. Jeremes Sweetheart figures to leave and get good early position again and she should overhaul Monochromatic in the lane.

Then in the penultimate race on the card, a non-winners of $9001 last six class for pacing fillies and mares, Soggy Soggy has the perfect name for winning over what will likely be a sloppy track. Last week in the same class the John Wilkerson trainee finished third despite a long, first over journey. Like Paradise Lost several races earlier, Soggy Soggy could certainly benefit from a second over journey and a quicker early tempo on Monday and unleash a solid closing kick to post a 10-1 upset.
