Handicapper Tim Holland brings us free racing picks from Indiana Grand, Parx Racing and Canterbury Park for July 21.
#5 Ya Gotta Wanna (9-2) may have needed his latest when unplaced over 9 furlongs at Churchill last month being his first outing since last September. Son of Proud Citizen finished fourth in the San Marcos (G2) last year and gets blinkers added by trainer D’Amato, who wins with 22% of his runners second off a layoff. Gelding can be tough at this level with Esquivel riding.
Blinkers are added to #4 Mr. Tip (10-1), who weakened to finish third after leading early over one mile on grass in his latest last month in his first start since April. Dark bay finished second in one of two previous starts on regular dirt for trainer Sisterson, who wins with 17% of his runners making this surface change. Son of Mr Speaker can be in good early position under Burke, who has won with two of her last three rides for this barn.
Trainer Preciado has won with 13% of his runners this year and saddles #6 Sail at Sunrise (7-2), who closed to finish third on the main track at Gulfstream after a slow start early last month. Son of 15% grass sire Midshipman is a half-brother to one winner and Preciado won with one of his first 10 starters at this meet. Dark bay can be along from off the pace with Sanchez in the saddle.
#3 Blue Lizzy (5-2) closed to finish third in her debut over the course and distance in her debut early this month. Trainer Silva wins with 21% of his runners on turf and has won with 22% of his starters since the beginning of this year. Daughter of Bluegrass Cat can be up in time with Garcia retaining the mount.
