Tim Holland has picks for Gulfstream Park, Parx, and Zia Park on Wednesday!
#5 Mozo Bello (10-1) flattened out to finish fifth after making progress from off the pace over 6 furlongs on the main track at Gulfstream West early last month, his first start since being claimed by Mike Maker. Gelding has a record of 12-3-0-3 on this turf and Maker wins with 21% second off the claim and with 17% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days. Son of Bellamy Road has worked well since his last outing and can be forwardly placed from the start under Gaffalione, who has won with 26% of his rides for the barn in the past two months.
Trainer Preciado has won with 30% of his runners at this meet and saddles #3 Ronin Warrior (6-1), who was prominent from the start when second as the favorite over a mile and 70 yards in his latest last month. Dark bay led from the start at this level and distance two back, and Preciado wins with 24% of his runners that were beaten as the favorite last time out. Gelding has a record of 14-2-3-2 here and may be the one to catch with Laprida retaining the mount.
Maidens going 5 1/2 furlongs include #3 Everymothersprayer (7-2) who gets Lasix added off a second-place finish as the favorite in her 6-furlong debut early last month. Trainer Servis wins with 19% of his second-time starters and daughter of Kantharos is a half-sister to three winners. Filly figures to be in front early under Pennington, who has won with five of his last 17 rides for this barn.
Dallas Barton wins with 16% of his first-time starters and saddles #10 Why Baby Why (8-1), a debuting daughter of Laugh Track and a half-sister to six winners. Filly has been working well and Barton has won with 20% of his runners at this meet. Bay could be ready for a good first outing with Laviolette in the saddle.
