Now that we’ve taken a more detailed look at the fields for Sunday’s Hong Kong International Races, let’s watch the contenders in action, beginning with the Hong Kong Vase (G1) (1:00 a.m. EST).

The natural starting point is Flintshire’s victory in last year’s Vase:

Who could forget Flintshire’s rout of the Sword Dancer (G1) at Saratoga?

And here’s Flintshire finishing second again in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (G1) last time out:

The nine-year-old Cirrus des Aigles isn’t the force of old, but he was himself in the May 3 Prix Ganay (G1) prior to his injury:

Cannock Chase put it all together emphatically in the Canadian International (G1):

Australia’s Preferment broke his maiden in the 2014 Victoria Derby (G1):

Preferment showed the same relentless finish in the October 4 Turnbull (G1):

Helene Super Star (ex Lines of Battle) fought to take Hong Kong’s top 1 1/2-mile event of the spring, the Champions & Chater Cup (G1), over a hard-charging Dominant:

Helene Happy Star had previously accounted for the Queen Mother Memorial Cup (G3), the prep for the Champions & Chater:

Highland Reel put on a show in the Secretariat (G1) at Arlington:

Highland Reel comes off a third in the Cox Plate (G1):

Ming Dynasty just dismissed older horses in the Prix du Conseil de Paris (G2):

Dariyan scored his signature win in the Prix Eugene Adam (G2):

Next time, Dariyan pursued New Bay all the way to the line in the Prix Guillaume d’Ornano (G2):
