It's a big day at Arlington International Racecourse

There is a lot going on today at Arlington Park: in addition to the daily promotions (free early Pick 4 PPs) and (Let 8 Ride) does, there are a bunch of carryovers at the Chicagoland track, including $21,190 in the Pick 5 that this scribe plans to attack.

My ABC grid for the entire sequence is below, but we’ll zero in on race 8, as that’s both the fourth leg of the Pick 5 and the Let 8 Ride race. The field for $25,000 claimers with only a maiden win to their credit attracted ten fillies and mares going one mile on turf and scratched down to nine starters.

The top selection is #6 Book Club who returns to turf, stretches back out, and drops in class for trainer Wayne Catalano. The Harlan’s Holiday filly has been in the thick of every race early lately but has not sustained those bids against better. She is the speed of this field, and her class versus these could make her tough to catch.

Good luck  wherever you’re playing today!
