The house was packed and everyone was anxious for the start of the 2017 edition of the $50,000 James J Patton Silver Cup. The field was set, almost everyone in the field had a chance to win, it was just going to come down to who wanted it more. The lure blazed the trail through the far turn and the crowd started to roar as they all knew that in a matter of seconds, we would know just who was the best of the best at bestbet Jacksonville in this stakes final.

With a racket rumble, Rusty moved by the front of the starting box, and with on solid pop, we were off and racing. At the start, no one hit the lid better than Boc’s Andross. Clearly a good half a length in front of the rivals from the box, she seemed to be in early command of this effort. She was chases closely by the inside part of the racetrack, Js Armdndangerus, Ww Next Big Thing, Real Good Feelin, and Ln Michaels, and that in command thing would be short lived. On the way to the turn the rushers had already passed her on the inside and it was looking like she would have to dig in deep if she wanted to stay with the lead group. On the rail, Js Armdndangerus slipped by and seized control heading into the turn just head of Ln Michaels and Ww Next Bigthing. Andross was just off that pace as Real Good Feelin was within striking distance to the outside. As the leaders headed through the turn, there was trouble to be had and it would change the outcome of this race. Js Armdndangerus was clear on the lead as Ln Michaels bumped with Ww Next Big Thing, who then collided with Boc’s Andross causing her to fall into Real Good Feelin and both were quickly taken out of contention. Down the backside, the rest went as Js Armdndangerus was making good use of the clear air up front. Cruising in the open he started to separate himself from the chase pack of Ln Michaels and Ww Next Big Thing, and half way to the far turn, he was in complete control. As Js Armdndangerus rounded the far turn, there was no doubt who was going to win this race as his nearest competitors were 6 lengths to his rear, but who was going to run behind him was still in question. The closers had made up their ground coming down the backside and drove up into contention with the chase pack as they turned for home. Down the stretch Armdndangerus came and with every stride the champion took, he just continued to impress the field. At the wire, no one was close. With a huge effort, and keeping his never being caught from behind streak intact, Js Armdndangerus crossed as the easy winner, 6 lengths better than the rest, but the story was not over for the rest just yet. Battling it out behind him, chaser Ln Michaels was coming up short as they crept closer to the wire and that gave an opportunity to the closers in the stretch. Ww Next Bigthing blew on by to secure the second spot at the wire as Wiki Jax Attack came from well off the pace as well to finished third. Ww’s Marsala also found another gear late and drove by on the wide side to complete the superfecta. Boc’s Queen Lady beat Ln Michaels home for 5th, and he had to settle for a 6th place finish at the wire. Boc’s Andross finished 7th and Real Good Feelin finished 8th after both fell in the first turn.

Congratulation head out to super pup Js Armdndangerus for his win in the 2017 edition of the $50,000 James J Patton Silver Cup. Kudos to the Lester Raines Kennel, Trainer Mike Gerard, Owner Shannon Henry, and everyone else connected with this fantastic greyhound. This puppy could soon be taking his talents elsewhere, and if he does, everyone better pay attention to this Sh Avatar pup as he is the real deal. Winning 16 of his 25 official starts, and finishing in the money an impressive 22 times, this guy can run with anyone and big things are expected of him in the future. Good Luck in the future as he will continue to bring the Apocalypse on whatever track he runs on.
