The History of the Pegasus Stakes

Inaugurated in 1981, the Pegasus Stakes is a Grade III Thoroughbred horse race run at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanside, New Jersey.

The two most notable winners of the race are Summing (1981) and Danzig Connection (1986), who both captured wins at the Belmont Stakes as part of their campaigns that year.
