A total of seven stakes races for Cajun-bred runners highlight a huge day of action at Fair Grounds on Saturday.

Race 7 -- Ladies Sprint S.

Most of the major players in the dash prefer to rally from well off the early tempo, which leads me to the speedy #4 Our Lost Love (6-1). Joseph Foster pupil is a stakes winner on the course from two local endeavors, and the daughter of Half Ours should control things from the start.

Race 8 -- Ladies Turf S.

Seven will go postward in the 1 1/16-mile grassy affair, and I can’t look past defending champ #6 Net A Bear (3-1) with Geroux up. Allen Landry trainee is a dual stakes heroine at Fair Grounds from three tries, and she will be very difficult to hold off late if she fires her best shot in the stretch.

Race 10 -- Juvenile S.

A dozen 2-year-olds will vie in the 6-furlong sprint. Foster’s maiden #2 Ready for Love (8-1) made a huge leap forward when a sharp runner-up in a special weight race here last time out, and he fits with the cast with another positive move on Saturday. Custom for Carlos homebred will have an honest pace to rally into beneath Murrill.

Race 12 -- Classic S.

The Steve Asmussen-trained #7 Shang (8-5) is the one to beat. The 4-year-old colt is four-for-five locally, and he is training well in advance of his return, as well. Versatile sort draws outside of the other pace and figures to get a dream trip throughout beneath Santana.

I also give a big chance to #4 Sydster (5-1) and will play him in an exacta with the morning-line choice. Power Broker gelding is a stakes victor at Fair Grounds, and he also might be on top from the break under top gun Geroux.
