Good Monday morning to you all. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

I’ll tell you one person who had a good weekend and that’s jockey Trevor McCarthy up at Aqueduct. We had Trevor’s agent Joseph Migliore on the Jason Beem Podcast a couple weeks ago and talked about their new partnership and Trevor riding in New York.

You can listen to that episode below.

But man have they been on a roll and it really seemed to come to a head this week at Aqueduct. After sweeping races six through nine last Sunday, Trevor won with three of his five mounts on Thursday's card.

Aqueduct cancelled because of frigid temperatures on Friday, but the McCarthy train rolled right into Saturday as he won again on four straight mounts in the middle stages of the card, including the Franklin Square Stakes aboard Sterling Silver. Side note, Sterling Silver is now a perfect 2 for 2 in his young career for trainer Tom Albertrani.

Trevor added another winner on Sunday to bring his total for the three day week at Aqueduct to eight wins from nineteen mounts. He’s twelve for his last twenty seven if you throw in last Sunday.

One thing Joseph Migliore and I talked about when he was on the show the other week was that Trevor is in a very interesting part of his career. After several years of being a top rider in Maryland/Virginia and the mid-Atlantic, he’s made some attempts at New York and Southern California to kind of take his shot at the top circuits. But he’s really making an impression this current go-around in New York, so it will be very cool to watch it unfold the rest of the winter and into the spring when a lot of the other top riders in New York come back from Florida.

I wish Trevor continued success and hope you all have a great week ahead. There's lots of fun coming up around the racing world this weekend, with the Pegasus as well as Houston Ladies Classic Day at Sam Houston.

This week on the Jason Beem Podcast we’ll be welcoming in Jerry Crawford from Donegal Racing as well as longtime professional horseplayer Tommy Massis.
