Santa Anita 8 | 7:30 pm ET G2 San Juan Capistrano for 3yo&Up going 1-3/4 mi (T)

QUICK CASABLANCA is the favorite for the San Juan Cap on Sunday and the horse to beat. He may have been too far back in the Whittingham, but there was a decent pace on that day and he fell just short. This long distance suits him and there should be a decent pace to run into. While class jumper BIG KICK is likely to go to the front, BLACK SPIRIT looks to be the one to sit the trip. The seven-year-old gelding is another making a jump in class, but he has won his last three races and could handle the rise against this field. BAILOUTBOBBY is the new face in the race, coming west from Kentucky and Churchill Downs. He finished second in his previous race, an allowance race at nine furlongs on the turf. He is yet another making a jump in class. Aside from QUICK CASABLANCA the only other graded stakes winner in the field, Lideris and Irish Surf scratched, is the Argentine-bred DR ACTION. DR ACTION won his graded race in Peru and has run twice in the states. He has yet to; however, finish closer than nine lengths.
