Santa Anita 7 | 7:00 pm ET Mizdirection for 3&Up F&M going about 6-1/2 f (T)

A perfect name for a stakes race down the hill as Mizdirection was a pure beast over the course, winning the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint in both 2012 and 2013. A horse for course in this stakes is TRIBAL SPY, winner of three races down the hill including the Grade 3 Las Cienagas in April. She showed a new dimension in that race, stalking the early pace and having enough late to hold off the run of LLANDUDNO, who is also in the Mizdirection. LLANDUDNO is 9-2 on the morning line and probably worth a bet at that price. She should get another good set up and Tyler Baze has been riding the turf course very well of late. LLANDUDNO and TRIBAL SPY are not the only two coming out of the Las Cienagas, the first through fifth place finishers are all entered in the Mizdirection. BIORHYTHM was the post time favorite yet she offered no response when set down late. TOP KISSER is the morning line favorite for this race, making her second start off a nine month layoff. She won a state-bred stakes a month ago and has won four of her seven career turf starts. All of those races have been around two turns. CIAO BELLA LUNA deserves a look as the second longest shot in the field. She won the Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Turf Sprint over the course and while she was fifth in the Las Cienagas, she is reunited with Kent Desormeaux, who was in the irons for the Sunshine Millions.
