SOUTHLAND preview - Monday, December 21
Welcome to another Monday twilight card of entertaining and exciting greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 races on tap for your viewing and wagering pleasure. For the next few days MoneyMaker Mike will be picking greyhounds who hopefully can add some holiday cash to each of our pockets. Monday's selections feature an impressive young greyhound trying to move up the grade ladder and two others who look to be in a good spot to give maximum effort. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
Race 4 - 583 yards - Grade D - CRAIGIECROSSFIRE - 1 box - He's gotten off to a fine start in his young career as he's coming off a very nice 6 1/2 length win where he led from start to finish. He's an inside runner who had a win, a second and a third place finish in his three schooling races so having drawn the one box in this contest, I am looking for him to make it two straight wins. I'll play quinielas keying the 1 with the 4/7/8.
Race11- 703 yards - Grade C - PJ JOHN GOTTI - 1 box - Despite trouble in his last six races, he's still been able to come away with four top four finishes. In those 6 races, he's been the beaten favorite five of those times. I look for him to avoid trouble and find running room to make a strong late move down the stretch to catch the leader. I will play him in quinielas and tri's using the 1 with the 2/6/8.
Race12- 583 yards - Grade B - ELLIE - 9 box - Let's go with the well posted ELLIE in this one as she loves it wide and having drawn the 9 box and being a recent drop in class, she should be in a good position to come away with a big effort here. She probably won't be among the early leaders but once she gets around that first turn, look for her to kick it up a notch or two and challenge for the win. I'll use the 9 with 1/3/6/7 in quinielas.
