Welcome to MoneyMaker Monday at Southland Greyhound Park. For this twilight racing I've selected 4 races where I am giving a longshot pick. As most of you know I normally have one designated MoneyMaker pick for the program but several of you have shown interest in having a few more longshot picks so for the month of January, on Monday's, I'll have four of them for your viewing and wagering opportunities. The criteria for a MoneyMaker pick is that the greyhound is not on the morning line so hopefully the picks will lead to us putting some nice cash in the pockets. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.

Race 1 - Here we have a Grade A contest over the 583 yard course and I am going with the (3) BRASKA DILLON to pull the upset in this one. I think he finds a running lane right out of the box and uses a good rush to the turn to battle for the win. He does have two second place efforts in his last four races so I'm giving him a play here at what should be very good odds.

Race 5 - I like the (7) PHENOM is this 5th race, a Grade M contest over the 583 yard course. He's a mid-track runner who does have the potential to go early and by having drawn the seven box, I look for him to avoid early trouble and be in good position at the turn. He's coming off a good effort last time out where he finished 3rd beaten only by 3 1/2 lengths. I'll give him a shot here, especially with the good odds I think he will go off at.

Race 7 - This is a distance race over the 660 yard course and I'm going with the (2) GIGAWATT to come from behind and win in a photo. He is a rail running late closer who should have running room on the inside in which to make his strong move in time to catch the leaders. He's a very consistent hard runner as evidenced by his 46 top four finishes in 62 races last season. Don't look for him among the frontrunners early but he'll be flying down the stretch and worth a play here.

Race 15 - Here we have a Grade AA contest over the 703 yard distance course and the pick here is the (1) CBJ KENNY. He's been having trouble running the turns as of late but he is capable of hitting the lid and he does have a strong late move down the stretch so with that combination, and the fact he has an inside running style to go with his one box post position here, it's worth giving him a play.

Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
