SOUTHLAND Preview - Thursday, December 17
Welcome to another Thursday twilight card of entertaining and exciting greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 races on tap for your viewing and wagering pleasure. For the next few days MoneyMaker Mike will be picking greyhounds who hopefully can add some holiday cash to our pockets. Thursday's selections are some talented and hard running greyhounds who are in Grade AA and worth giving a shot. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
Race 5 - 583 yards - Grade AA - SE TALI SUNDANCE - 6 box - A talented greyhound with speed to burn, he's encountered trouble of late as evidenced by being bumped in his last two races. This time, with his big rush to the turn and wide running style, if he can avoid early trouble from the rail running 8 dog, he should be a threat to get back to his winning ways. With 24 top four finishes in 33 races which includes 13 wins, I consider him a threat each time out and especially starting from an outside post position.
Race 9 - 583 yards - Grade AA - KEEPER RATCHET - 1 box - In her last 3 races from the one box, this rail runner has two wins and a second place finish. There is no reason to think she can't keep it going here and while some gamblers and handicappers may try to beat her, I'm going to bet her first and second on some trifectas with the 3/5/8.
Race18- 703 yards - Grade TAA - PJ IM A JAMMER - 8 box - This rail runner has 40 top four finishes in 52 races and has enough speed out of the box to clear the turn early and find running room on the inside. I think he wins a close one here and I will play the 8 to beat the 2 in the superfecta.
