Euro 2020: Denmark vs. Finland betting odds, preview, and pick
Denmark are big favorites to get their Euro 2020 campaign off to a winning start in front of their home fans in Copenhagen. Finland are the first visitors to the Danes in Group B, and are the +775 underdogs for the game, with the draw available at +315.

Neither team set the world alight in qualifying, but nobody will forget Denmark’s heroics in Euro 1992 as they became one of the tournament’s most unlikely winners. They’ll look to recreate that moment under manager Kasper Hjulmand.
Finland arguably have assembled their greatest national side in decades, but whether it will be enough to stop the Danes is another matter.
Eriksen to Excel at the Euros
Christian Eriksen had a rough time of things when he left Tottenham for Inter Milan last year, but he delivered a series of strong performances to help his side win Serie A and rediscover the form that made him one of the Premier League’s best players.
He is, without doubt, the star in Denmark’s team, and the way they set up with Borussia Dortmund’s Thomas Delaney and Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg running the midfield, it allows Eriksen the freedom to roam between midfield and attack – the area of the pitch he does the most damage.
It was a fairly uninspiring qualifying campaign for Denmark, who finished runners-up to Switzerland. Despite going unbeaten, they dropped points to Georgia and a very poor Ireland team (twice!). But since then, they’ve been on a roll, winning nine of their last 12 games in a run that saw them beat England and draw with Germany.
Eriksen led the team in goals in qualifying with five, and is deadly from set pieces. He has 36 goals for his country, and only needs three more to become one of the top five Danish goalscorers of all-time.
School is in Session for Finland
Former schoolteacher-turned-coach Markku Kanerva has turned Finland into a team with a special club-like bond. They are a national team with defined roles and carry out those responsibilities to the most detailed letter. They are so well drilled and organized they can suck the life out of a match – but fans won’t care if it gets results.
Team spirit and organization can only take you so far though, and just qualifying for Euro 2020 is deemed a success for this side. They benefitted from a qualifying group that bar Italy was weak, and crucial wins at home to Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina were enough to see them through as runners-up.
Worryingly, Finland managed just 16 goals in those 10 qualifying games, one of the lowest tallies of all the teams who qualified. Teemu Pukki is the star, but he’s been the fall guy for the Finland team for a decade now, with very few players stepping up to that level around him.
Denmark should sweep past the Finns
Given Finland’s lack of goal threat, Under 2.5 goals at odds of -155 looks like a good bet, as does "No" in Both Teams to Score at -195.
The odds suggest a straightforward Danish win is the most likely outcome with 1-0 at +425, and 2-0 at +480. You can hedge your bets and just back Denmark to win to nil at +100.
Andreas Cornelius (+410), Kasper Dolberg (+410), and Christian Eriksen (+430) are all near the head of the market to open the scoring, with Eriksen to score first and Denmark to win 2-0 a tempting bet at +1800.
